This guide will walk you through the rules, phases, glossary, and formats of Earlyverse. Designed for curious minds and mischievous players alike.
Changes Glossary:
- Changes from the most recent previous set of rule are highlighted yellow and bolded.
- Some rules have been removed, in which case youโll notice they are
crossed out in addition to being highlighted yellow and bolded.
- Any rules that are highlighted pink and bolded are rules changes to the actual cards. These changes will need to be kept in mind when playing the game.

๐CARD CHANGES
This section tracks all rules changes that effect information shown on the playing cards themselves. While the game is still being play tested, weโll keep players informed of those changes here until the next set is released that reflects all of these changes.
- All Parallel abilities that mimic other abilities cost 0. Parallel abilities that mimic Wonder or Warp Values are still the cost indicated on the card.
๐ GAME GOALS & COMPLETION
๐ฏ Goals of the Game
- Earlyverse: Spread magic! Culturevate the planet and reach 50 Planet Points to win.
- Mischieverse: Cause mischief! Drop the planet to -50 Planet Points through deculturevation to delay culturevation by 1,000 years.
- The Planet Point Counter starts at 0 in standard games, but you can start higher or lower for an increased challenge for one player!

How the Game Ends
- Planet Points Counter hits 50 โ Earlyans win
- Planet Points Counter hits -50 โ Mischievents win
- If all playersโ decks/draw piles are empty:
- Planet Points >0 = Earlyans win
- Planet Points <0 = Mischievents win
- Planet Points = 0 = Draw!
โ Moving Goals
Culturevating a new planet is a delicate process. The longer it takes to culturevate it, the more unstable the magic and mischief matter gets! Because of this, the planet point goals for winning move closer to 0 the longer the game goes.
- At the beginning of turn 6, the goals shift to 40 and -40
- At the beginning of turn 10, the goals shift to 20 and -20
This is the rule for standard games. Feel free to give it your own flavor if you want shorter or longer games!

- Place the deck on the right or left side in front of you.
- Discard piles are above each deck.
- Leave space in the middle of the board for the "new planet" where you can place the planet counter and planet figment cards.
- Directly in front of you, leave room for your card Spaces
